What is the MPJE?

The Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) is a 2.5-hour, 120-question computer-adaptive test administered by NABP. It tests knowledge of federal and state pharmacy law. Only 100 of the 120 questions are scored.

What is the passing score for the MPJE?

The MPJE is scored on a 0–100 scale. A scaled score of 75 or higher is required to pass. Most states use 75 as the universal pass line.

How long is the MPJE?

2.5 hours (150 minutes), 120 questions (100 scored). Uses computerized adaptive testing (CAT).

Is the MPJE the same for every state?

What is the stricter law principle?

When state law is more restrictive than federal law, the stricter state law governs in-state practice. The MPJE tests this heavily — know both and apply whichever is more restrictive.

How do I register for the MPJE?

Register at nabp.pharmacy. Apply to your state board first, who sends eligibility to NABP. NABP issues an Authorization to Test (ATT) — schedule via Pearson VUE within the ATT window. Fee ~$145.

How long should I study for the MPJE?

Most candidates study 2–4 weeks. Recent graduates may need only 2 weeks; candidates in stricter-than-federal states should plan 3–4 weeks.
